An evening benefitting marginalized children in Colombia

On October 21st, we had the pleasure of attending Neacol's annual gala. Neacol is an organization based in Massachusetts of Colombians and friends of Colombia committed to volunteering and collaborating to support social initiatives for the benefit of Colombian children. Their goals are to generate innovative ideas, raise awareness, and channel resources to provide a better quality of life for Colombian children in need.

Every year we enjoy being part of this event because it is gratifying to be able to help impoverished children even if we are far away from our country. Growing up in Colombia, we witnessed the hardships that certain groups suffer as a result of socioeconomic circumstances and it makes us happy to be able to help.

100% of the net proceeds raised at the gala will be used to fund future projects focusing in the areas of education, health and nutrition.

We attended the event with our friend and fellow Colombian, Dr. Jairo Noreña. He is a general surgeon and a research fellow at Harvard University and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Follow him on @ www.instagram.com/jaironove/

Thursday night, eventful as usual!

Last Thursday, Chicharron and Caviar had a busy and productive evening.
7:00pm-8:00pm: We were invited by our friends from @MsFitForSociety for a night of fall styling at Heist, a really cool and edgy boutique in Beacon Hill. The purpose of the event was to collect gloves, scarfs and mittens for Rosie's Place, a sanctuary for poor and homeless women.

8:15pm-9:45pm: We were sipping on vodka sodas at the VIP preview night at The Grand Nightclub. When we came in the venue we could not believe what our eyes were seeing. We felt like we were automatically transported to Vegas. We were impressed by the lighting, sound system, furniture and art. Chicharron was particularly attracted to the bartender's and bottle girl's outfits, they were sexy with a hint of sophistication.
In addition to The Grand, you can find on the second floor Scorpion Restaurant and Bar, a Mexican inspired cantina. So next time we go we are definitely going to fill up on some tacos and enchiladas so we can dance and drink the night away at The Grand.

10:00pm-1:00am: Chicharron and Caviar danced to J Balvin and Shakira at the Masquerade party at the Chalet in Bastille. Everyone was dressed up in elaborate customs, except for us. We don't need masks, what you see it's what you get.
We particularly liked Alejandro Alvarez from The Event Society. His make-up was on point! You can't go wrong with feathers and colored contact lenses.
